1. It started in a training room.
Before Synomi there were hundreds of hours of programming — and then a training room. Hundreds of people have passed through it, and still do: people who came to the Netherlands to work for themselves — builders, fitters, electricians, cleaners. Masters of their trade. People who don't need anyone to explain what hard work is.
And we kept seeing the same picture: a man who can put up a house and breeze through the most tangled technical drawings — getting lost in paperwork. A plumber who knew everything about flow kept tripping over cash flow. An electrician, perfectly at ease with current, would short-circuit somewhere between the synapses the moment he looked at a tax return. Not because they couldn't count — but because invoicing and admin software isn't written for ordinary people. It's written for accountants. In jargon you can't fight your way through after a ten-hour day. And if you're still learning Dutch — it gets even worse.
2. There’s a simpler way.
Synomi grew out of a few simple beliefs: your business admin should speak your language — literally and figuratively. In English, Dutch, Polish or Ukrainian. Without accountant jargon — and where jargon really can't be avoided, we'll explain it to you. The human way.
Your business admin should help you, not get in your way — and it has to comply with Dutch law. For expats who don't know the local rules and tax law, that matters enormously. With documents that always come out right, in proper Dutch — because that's how they're supposed to be. Peace of mind.
With plain access to how your business is doing — you have the right to know what's happening in your company, at any moment. And not to be surprised once a quarter. Synomi shows it to you as it happens. It's not classified information under a wax seal. It's not exclusive knowledge reserved for the chosen few. It's your data, laid out so you can take it all in at a glance. Private.
Some call this ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), some SaaS (Software as a Service), others still CRM (Customer Relationship Management). We won't pick a label — we do everything those magical systems do. We just say: it's the app that puts your whole business under your control. Synomi.
And we still do what we did on day one: we listen to what hurts, and we simplify the things others needlessly complicate. And if something can be automated, sped up or smoothed out — we'll do it. After all, you don't have to be an expert at everything.
3. Daisy.
Honestly? We have no idea. Maybe because in spring, daisies are everywhere in the Netherlands — on lawns, on roadside verges, between the paving stones. Unassuming and stubborn: you can mow them down, and a week later they're blooming again.
Maybe because they suit our Customers. And us. People, like daisies, bloom wherever they find a patch of good ground, make no fuss about themselves — and after every hard season they flower again — because they have their own daisy mission.
And besides — admit it, it does look good in the logo. ;-)
